Wonder Park: Magic Rides Review

This is a casual focused theme parking building game. It's about working through quests, building rides and entertaining visitors. It starts out quickly, teaches the essential elements well and doesn't feel like it has a boring tutorial. You learn everything that's needed and then are able to just enjoy it. Most of your building options are unlocked through level progression and with each tier that you pass you'll gain access to more things.

These are largely showcased through the quests that pop up as you play. You'll also be unlocking new characters as you progress; the more you have, the more items you can have them produce over a set period of time. These activities will grant you items such as popcorn which can be used within the cooking system. There are buildings present that will enhance these items as well. With the food, you'll be able to sell it or use it within the quest and building elements of the experience.

A number of production structures can be upgraded, and some may break down from which you'll need to repair them. The theme park area can be expanded upon over time and you're never feeling a pressure to purchase the microtransactions within this. You'll gain some premium currency as you play, and don't forget to keep the happiness level up for bonuses.

Wonder Park: Magic Rides delivers a solid theme park building experience with a casual style and one that's rather fun to play. You never feel as though you're limited in what you can do, and gameplay expands the more you play. There are many fun items to work towards, and park elements to build. You can continue to expand your park in new ways as you cook more food to reach higher tiers.

You can see the visitors moving around, and the rides are also animated for a more dynamic world. It delivers on a quality experience and it's largely enjoyable. I perhaps would have liked more complexity within this, but it works fine as a casual park building title. The breaking down of certain elements could get tiresome, but it does add a layer of difficulty which is need for the balancing of gameplay. There's a lot to do here, many characters to work with and it ties into the Paramount Animated film well.
