Mobile Game of the Year - Nominations by Ken Appleby with explanations
The first game that is up for nomination is Tengami. This game has been chosen for the following reasons, beautiful art and design, great game mechanics, and finally it is a change of pace from the regular shooters and action games. Upon going back and playing this I found that my second play through was just as good as my first one. The game is essentially a pop up book that you are playing through. Meaning the gamer has to pull on the various tabs within the book to manipulate the landscape to achieve the current objective.
The second game up for nomination this year is Wordbase. The reason this game has been nominated is because it has everything a word nerd online gamer could want. The games layout is easy to use and it looks good, this is one of the cases where simplicity is done correctly. Overall Wordbase is a great online game worthy of the nomination.
The third game up for nomination this year is Spider-Man unlimited. For all the super hero lovers and temple run fans this game takes all the good elements and creates one awesome game. This game adheres to the Spider-Man universe with its story as well as looking great. The games mechanics are sound and there are little problems. Combined with all the weekly events and challenges this game really is ultimate.
The fourth game up for nomination this year is Hard Time. Hard time has been nominated for its originality and fun gameplay. Though this game does not have the greatest graphics it makes up for all the crazy and whacky things that happen while you are playing throughout the game.
The fifth and final game up for nomination this year is Dragons Rise of Berk. This game has been selected because of how well it blends different genres. A gamer who is into city building games will find something they enjoy as well as a player who enjoys a decent story filled with various quests.
