Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Serpent's Heart is the fifth DLC released for the game that continues the adventures of Lara Croft's latest release. This is another solid additional release to the post-launch content. Here Lara is tasked with getting a special item that can turn the tides of war.

She's doing this at the demand of her foes as one of her friends has been taken hostage. It's got a direct connection to the core narrative, depending on if you took the time for a prison break. This level was fast paced, and action packed. It was less about puzzle solving, and more about quick wit. You'd have to target certain items while swiftly hitting markers along the way.

If you didn't, deadly traps would cause quick loss or piranhas may nibble a bit at Croft's toes. It's a gorgeous looking area that's filled with water, some sitting and lots of it with a speedy current. It's a neat setup as it features light combat in the sense that you're constantly fighting for survival. Shifting tides, and ancient ruins await in this adventure.

The Conclusion

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Serpent's Heart is a solid expansion upon the core campaign that directly ties into a main mission. This one definitely has some stakes to it if you did a certain side quest prior during the main campaign. It also grants you some really neat looking extras once you work through it.

The level is about speed, and accuracy as you attempt to keep composed during deadly situations. This is less about slow based problem solving, and more about keeping on your toes. I thought this level looked great, and was probably the most fun of what I've played DLC wise. The piranhas were also wonderful to see, was not expecting this setup at all.
