Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Price of Survival is the fourth DLC released for the game that continues the adventures of Lara Croft's latest release. This is the best addition thus far bringing more combative segments than usual, and some better designed puzzles. They also seemed to have a bit of fun with this one as you're shooting off canons at times, and exploring some really awesome looking special terrain.

The quality of the environments continue to impress and there was a certain level of grime and odd mushrooms that delighted. The level was far better than the past offerings, being larger and more expansive in terms of scale. It had some stealth segments, and a deeper narrative that actually mattered to the overall narrative. It felt like an improvement as opposed to just an extra side activity. The puzzles generally were simple, yet layered with complexity. This felt more in line with the rest of the package.

The Conclusion

Shadow of the Tomb Raider: The Price of Survival balances some interesting puzzles with combative segments that offer choice. It's the best DLC release of the extra content packing some extra length and better puzzles. They're more in line with the regular campaign and very distinct as you solve them. The areas felt more expansive, with a narrative that did matter in adding extra context to the main characters at play in the core campaign.

It felt like less of a gimmick and more like an important part of the story, which was great. It was quite enjoyable and brought some really interesting setups that felt like a new area to explore. They had some great pull back shots and it did feel like a distinct location within a game that you've probably spent quite a fair bit of time playing if you've worked through it already.
