Of Mice and Sand Revised Review

"Tight Mice Crew"

Campaign

Of Mice and Sand Revised is an intense management focused game where you're attempting to run a tight vehicle of mice. There are many factors involved such as a possible fear of death or a loss of fuel along the way. You're working to assist these mice by selecting what buildings to create, picking possible trades and making the hard choices to perhaps help strays along the way. It can be difficult, yet rewarding as you battle along the paths. It's quite simplistic, yet there's a lot of depth present. There are many essential rooms to build and a number of supplies to collect that can be used to upgrade or enhance existing items. Along the road to survival you can stop by at various towns or spots and engage in conversation. This will allow the ability to get intel, trade for supplies or engage in other special events.

Gameplay

I wasn't too blown away by the visuals, it deploys pixel art yet nothing too detailed. I didn't find Of Mice and Sand Revised to be particularly good on a large screen though it was fine when undocked. It's easy to control to the point that you really don't manage much. You just allocate rooms and attempt with difficulty to highlights members of your crew.

The Conclusion

Of Mice and Sand Revised is an alright experience, it has some depth for the management style it deploys and charm in the mini, as in tiny mice you take care of. You'll have to be strategic in how you manage the critters while also watching out for hazardous conditions from the outside world. Supplies are key as you trade or collect them and choice will be a big deal as you survive the dangerous world. Will you help mice on the outside or save supplies such as food to keep the society you've built going. It's quite dark when you think about it and that works well.
