Insurgency Review

"Damn Fine Realism"

Multiplayer

Insurgency started off as mod a way long time ago and has been revamped for this day and age as its own title gleaming with realistic combat. This title is a multiplayer only experience featuring a grilling combat environment where every move, shot and play comes into effect. Featuring a variety of battle-worn environments that each bring their own sense of tactics to the field you will take part in a series of differing game modes that bring something each player will love. In a sense these many game mode that are mostly versus, whereas a couple are cooperative feel relatively like those of which you would of played in many other shooters. Though what Insurgency does special is make every move or objective capture a crucial key with spawning being based on this movement between objectives. Many are round based and your team spawns in waves whether that be with every position capture or objective complete along the path on these combat zones. This makes for tense action as numbers may be dwindling and a hero pulls of a final save to turn the tides. What sets this aside from other shooters, yes it does look a lot like Modern Warfare as many that have watched me mentioned. It actually did come before that particular series, though it should feel familiar for many in that sense, but is far less forgiving. This is the aspect that makes to really it's own is that any bullet can kill, every sound can let you know where someone is as it really does have a beautiful dynamic sound setup and it just puts you into a war type scenario. It isn't as flashy as those huge shooters, but it takes what it has and presents it well in a fairly great looking environment.

Gameplay

Insurgency looks great from the environment to bullet whizzing and those gun models are actually really fancy. The game does feature a class system which you select prior to loading in that allows you some choice in how you take the field, though it restricts everyone from being over powered and balances the field of play. It all feels very realistic in how movements are handled from swaying to peak corners or basic movement with slides thrown in there.

Insurgency

The Conclusion

If you are craving a shooter that works to move away from the unrealistic world of running through bullets this is for you. It's a great looking, realistic and provides amazing sound as you combat the other team in many deadly rounds. It's fast paced and as a good variety of content for you to play in with more promised down the road.
