Marvel's Spider-Man: Turf Wars is the second DLC in the post-launch content that's part of the "The City That Never Sleeps" story line. This particular second release follows Spider-Man as he deals with a growing threat from Hammerhead and his goons. Stuck in the middle of this is a now strained relationship with Yuriko Watanabe. She is of course a close friend of the web slinger, and the one that is his connection to the police. It would appear they're going to be following an interesting story if they build upon this with the third and final release in the additional DLC story.
For now, you go from place to place tackling enemies in confined spaces. It felt very similar to the last one while having slightly less in regards to different content. I liked how it was more focused, but am growing tired of repetitive small claustrophobic battles. The turret enemies are tiresome, as are the new shield chargers which were used in the boss fight in this one. I would have liked more of a focus on the narrative, which they were lightly working on. I'd be fine it it was shorter, would probably make this less fatiguing as battling the same enemies in the same spot is a far stray from what the core game provided.
Marvel's Spider-Man: Turf Wars was a step down from the last release, but builds towards what could be a very exciting conclusion. I hope that they lean away from small scale combat to something more dynamic. For having such a powerful character at this point I shouldn't be getting worn down by the bad guys and just enjoying the web slinging action. This one seemed to be more about having you swing across the city to pad time and have you fight the same enemies within small spaces.
It was a bit disappointing to be honest, but still not a bad time. There are three new neat costumes added to this one as well, those should be fun for fans as they're very different in their style. I'm curious to see what they do with Yuriko Watanabe in the last episode assuming they focus on her as I have a good idea of what they're adapting here. This hasn't been the best of extra content, but a solid continuation to the main narrative and I have enjoyed heading back to this gorgeous world they've created.
