Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare Gesture Warfare Impressions

I haven't enjoyed the multiplayer for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare in the slightest since the game launched, but that has since changed with a small yet awesome mode. This mode is called Gesture Warfare and while it might only appear occasionally it has the potential to be a truly fun new experience within the game. It's just absolutely hilarious, wacky and the right sort of fun side thing that this futuristic multiplayer needs. When playing the game it acts somewhat like Fiesta in Halo where you get a single weapon from an array of random gesture attacks with each kill bringing a new gesture to use.

These come across as blowing kisses, fighting players with a figurine or shooting finger guns. It sounds stupid, it certainly looks so but it's damn awesome. There's even one that's the squishing people's head sign and they work like regular weapons. I was certainly surprised by the care spent here as there are a pile of gesture based weapons to unleash on others and you're never sure what's going to show up next. If you're no fun there's also a throwing knife to use and occasionally some dropped ammo through scavenge. Think of it as something that would show up during the old Call of Duty party games like gun game.

This was truly the first time I've enjoyed anything in the multiplayer from Infinite Warfare and it shows some fun can be provided from this game. It was also the first time I was able to rope a friend to join as he had never touched the game having just grabbed it for Modern Warfare Remastered. We ended up actually spending a few hours that night enjoying this free for all based mode and decimating each other or anyone that would come by. It felt rather cool blasting someone away with a finger gun, bursting up to turn around and do the same to another with a blown kiss.

It's also just entirely stupid that soldiers would be doing something like that or that finger shooting someone would make them explode into a cloud of blood. Still, the stupidness of it all is just pure fun and something I wouldn't have ever expected to play just a couple years back. Who ever came up with this idea at the studio definitely deserves a promotion and hopefully some more enjoyable modes can pop up in the future. It's a fun, well varied mode that easily takes the existing multiplayer and tweaks it for something unique. If you see it come up in the future I really can't suggest checking it out enough.
