Forza Horizon 4: Fortune Island Review
"Bolts of Lightning"
The Forza Horizon 4: Fortune Island expansion brings a brand new land mass to explore, yet one that does feature a similar biome. That's not a negative however as the core game is gorgeous and this is a nice extra. What we get here is a compressed area featuring some various levels of elevation. Along the coast are some small houses and up north you get a far rockier terrain. It's not too large, but there are many extra roads to traverse with neat paths to take and of course many new things to do. You never know what secrets might be hidden such as creepy caves.
Continue racing with a special circuit here that features a number of genres or just complete side activities hidden throughout the island. There's also a series of treasure hunt type clues to work through, so that's fun. When it comes to features you get seasons and some new background effects such as lightning and the Aurora Borealis. The latter two are really cool to witness and just more natural weather type events integrated into the franchise. I look forward to seeing more of them going forward. There are also new cars, a focus on drift racing and just more to do.
The Forza Horizon 4: Fortune Island expansion is an excellent addition to an incredible game. It gives you more of what you like, in a fresh location. The additional weather effects are neat and I look forward to seeing more of those in future entries.
This is certainly more of what I loved from the core game, but at the same time it is purely more of that. There's a lot to do here so you're definitely getting value out of it. Just don't expect anything too wildly different and get ready to continue racing, but at some stranger elements of verticality. Hopefully the additional content that follows is up to this level of quality.
