Annihilation is without a doubt the best of the map packs for Black Ops and actually delivers well on Multiplayer and Zombies. The multiplayer maps of Drive In, Hanger 18, Hazard and Silo are actually all really well designed and a blast to play. Despite Hazard being somewhat of a upgrade to Cliffside each map brings something different. Drive In, is well basically a Drive-in Theater with some minor buildings surrounding the large screen which you can climb up on. Despite being a smaller map it uses its space well. Hanger 18, which is a hanger for the blackbird located at Area 51 is cool map that is well setup and has tons of neat little side things to look at. Hazard, which is Cliffside, but relocated across the world and turned into a golf course, I will say there is far less cover available, but there was defiantly a lot of editing put into the map. Silo is basically a launch site, with areas differing in elevation, a neat map with a few different areas to move throughout the map.
Shangri La, despite being what I would call a smaller zombie map, is packed with things to do. Continuing the story from Call of the Dead, which is basically a background thing to do and not necessary. The original cast has returned!, bringing back some older weapons along with a new gun and special claymores. The jungle is also home to power up stealing monkeys and a collection of new zombies to kill. Being such a small map, it creates a problem of defense, traditional team holdouts no longer work in newer zombies, resulting in people always wanting to run around in different areas taking away from the team aspect. Yet the map looks great and has an amazing feel when you play.
Annihilation is the best of the map packs, bringing in a variety of maps that area a great addition to your collection. The multiplayer brings some neat locations and variety of killing options, while Shangri La is exciting packed bundle of zombie joy. The map defiantly has some variety and interest within it.
