Sunset Overdrive: Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines Review

"Robotic and Rough"

Campaign

It's time for the Dawn of the Rise of the Fallen Machines in Sunset Overdrive which is sadly the last DLC pack announced for the game. It was also a somewhat rough way to end my game of the year pick for last year and the last DLC which was also great.

This pack was also short and even shorter than last time, heck even a vast amount of my time was replay for some questionable areas. While still bringing some entertaining parts that this game is known for the overall structure and play of this DLC was bad. Such as the portion with the ball and the amount of damage which those robots give/take.

Compared to the last DLC I really have to ask what went wrong here and why it couldn't have been done in a better way. The absolute worst area was the whole defrag spot, while breaking the fourth wall and talking to Kinect I believe the parkour area was somewhat stupid. I did however love the ending and they couldn't have produced a better spot to finish it all off, just wonder why the last just over a hour DLC was so disappointing. The Conclusion

If you love Sunset Overdrive this brings closure to the game in its own weird way; but it's a really bad add-on, sadly. I'd definitely suggest the main game or DLC if you're looking to experience this fantastic game, but maybe trudge through this just to get the ending. Quests also felt the same and by the end of playing through this it left a sour feeling about the game which again, sucks.
