Dead Rising 3: Chaos Rising Review

"Chaos Rising"

Campaign

The third episode of the Dead Rising 3: Untold Stories of Los Perdidos puts you into the shoes of a crazy past bike gang leader that has been put into jail for some reason or another. Right off the bat you can definitely tell that this will be a story completely different from the previous outings where the characters were out for some sort of self enlightenment where this psychopath just wants to take back to his gang. I know right, I can't believe either that someone would take over his motorcycle gang while he was in jail. Well it is time for us to take back the throne by collecting some whiskey and then collecting some cycles. It seems like a far more simple of a campaign and well it really is I felt a little more connected to the story than previous outings as this one was just based off of pure enjoyment. More or less brought on by this crazy character that has a very direct connection to the overall campaign and leads right into the regular game. The episode also has a small collection of side things to do such as collecting random cycles that are littered across the various sectors of the map, along with extra whiskey to collect and some posts that need to be destroyed. There really isn't very strong substance throughout as the campaign even featured a portion where you just got to play around while your ride was built for you. I actually drove it for a few minutes then just got out to the continue the overall mission, the entirety of the expansion is fairly short though in-line with the other episodes.

Dead Rising 3 DLC Chaos Rising

The Conclusion

Chaos Rising really doesn't step up in terms of things to do or really missions to accomplish, though it does provide a deepened aspect to the overall story and a psychopathic lead to which we are not used to before. It was more of an entertaining set of missions that helped bridge the game together and just brought some extra time to Dead Rising 3
