While Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary originally released for the 10th anniversary of the game on November 15, 2011 a digital version was never made available. That has now changed as of September 23, 2017 as the game is now available for digital purchase. This is mostly due to the Halo franchise all becoming Xbox Backwards Compatible for Xbox One. Some had questioned why they couldn't obtain the game digitally since every other entry was available in that format.
It was then quickly added up to the store so players can enjoy the game as a digital title for Xbox 360 or on Xbox One. The game is currently priced at $19.99 containing a fully remastered campaign and seven popular maps remastered for Halo Reach's multiplayer design. The install size is 7.39 GB and it was developed by 343 Industries in partnership with Saber Interactive. It should also be noted that the game is available on Xbox One within Halo: The Master Chief Collection running at a higher 1080p 60fps resolution.
