Forza Horizon 3 Xbox One X Install Size

The install size for Forza Horizon 3 on Xbox One X has been revealed coming in at a large size with the enhanced option being available starting January 15, 2018 taking up a total of 51.04 GB on the Xbox Marketplace. The Xbox One Base size is roughly the same size as the general update was a minimal change. The Windows 10 PC version is noted at 55.04 GB in size. All formats are very similar and the additional content you have may make the game appear slightly different in size. It's also worth mentioning the game is a Xbox Play Anywhere title, buy it digitally on either platform and own it on both.

The install size was grabbed from the console with the game having been given a decently large update and it now showing up under "Xbox One X Enhanced Games" tab. 4k assets for games are automatically available to those on the Xbox One X. This install size will most likely stay the same since I can't imagine it'll receive any future updates. The game has seen a great lifespan with tons of minor car packs for DLC and two amazing expansions. The first of those is Blizzard Mountain bringing a chilly snow based selection of content and Hot Wheels where it's a literal toys come to virtual life island setup.

When it comes to the actual Forza Horizon 3 Xbox One X enhancement it's stuffed with amazing tweaks. This includes a native 4k resolution locked perfectly at 30fps and topped off with HDR. While a 60fps option would have also been great, that's not present here and that is most likely due to the age of the game (these updates take time) or issues with the frame rate in competitive situations. Whatever the case, the game is just glorious and simply stunning with the enhancement.

Aside from the bump in quality, the enhancement brings 16X anisotropic filtering; 4X MSAA, improved shadows, better motion blur, further quality rendering distance and higher quality reflections. The loading screens have also been sped up and this is all across the open Australian environment that features no loading while you travel. That's insane, the results are a treat and this is a perfect upgrade for what I consider to be the best racing game ever. It sets yet another strong point for the console and gives us a first look at just how amazing Forza Horizon 4 on Xbox One X could be.
