Ark: Survival Evolved Nintendo Switch Cheats, Admin Console Guide

While the game is usually about hardcore survival, you can have more fun with it. There are of course Ark: Survival Evolved Nintendo Switch cheats, and these are accessed through the Admin Console. This is an easy to access extra hidden part of the game that’s available.

This is a quick guide about turning it on and some basic functions that you can perform while using it. Presented in both a text style of a guide, and also directly as a video to see viewed below if you like that visual presentation of it.

Hopefully you’ll find this helpful and it will assist you in having a better time on the platform. The game itself actually getting a full revamp that completely changed just how you cheat within it and the type of offerings that are present with the experience for this console.

Updated Way
To start, you’ll go into the menu of your particular world and head to the settings by pressing the plus button. That will bring a menu up which gives the “options” choice. Head in there and go to “gameplay”. From that chosen button you’ll see a range of selections to make.

Head over to “console access” and checkmark that so it’s turned on. From then on when you click the plus button to get to the initial settings you’ll see in the bottom left corner that “console command” is now a choice when clicking the minus button.

That’s all you need to do, it’s much easier than the old method which was for a previous version of the game. I’ve included that below for reference in case you’re still somehow using that version of Ark. I’ve also added an updated video showcasing this above and more in-depth options for what sort of mods continue below.

Old Way
To start, you need to check the option that allows the admin console prior to loading the world. This can be done in single player or local setup multiplayer areas as the host. The next step is to activate the console by pressing "L + R + X + Y" at the same time. This will make a bar appear in the pause menu, click it and you're now able to enter various cheats or commands.

Cheat Command Suggestions
Some good ones to get started are "God" for god mode, or "GMBuff" which will give an instant max boost to level. You should find that one particularly helpful for surviving within this very hostile and large scale world. This is of course, alongside with any of these something that works on all of the maps present in the game.

There's also "InfiniteStates" for increasing your points quickly. A more complex option is "GiveItemNum X 1 1 0" where the X is changed to a number that corresponds with an in-game item ID. This will allow you to spawn things such as parts of structures or tools. After that is "summon X_Character_BP_C which will spawn creatures into the game. You name the creature you want instead of the X here. Dodo is an example for this, or MegaRex and just make sure it's one word.

You could also add "tamed" after summon to spawn a creature that is automatically tamed for you. I hope this at least helps you get started with adding some fun to your game. There are more commands of course, but these are the basics and probably the most common out there.
