It would seem that Age of Empires: Definitive Edition Xbox One mouse and keyboard support might be a real thing. This follows the discovery of a hub page ahead of the big unveiling event at X018. At this FanFest setup the full details on support for having the console gain mouse and keyboard acceptance is to be revealed. One of those big possible games was always the more recently released remaster of the classic RTS title. That is of course Age of Empires: Definitive Edition which is in the Windows Store already for PC based devices.
It would likely become a Xbox Play Anywhere title and be one of the initial showcases for what's possible with this type of support on the console. On top of that, it has the potential to bring a 4k resolution for Xbox One X as it was enhanced with high resolution assets. This release isn't one hundred percent confirmed yet, but most likely will be as it is first party and they've set forth with remastering the various releases while working towards a new fourth entry within the franchise. This should be exciting for fans of the series as it'll boost the population for multiplayer and make the title more accessible to additional players. You'll see for sure whether or not this happens at X018 on November 10, 2018 in Mexico City. For now, read out review of this release as it was quite great and check out the hub for more coverage on the reborn franchise.
