"Weird Puzzles"

Campaign

Strange contraptions and the most bizarre of setups are what make up Access Denied. This game is rather odd in nature as it doesn't give you clear context into what you're doing and you just figure it out. There are a good quantity of levels and they feature completely unique situations for you to tackle. There is a small sense of an evolution as the puzzles build upon one another in different ways, though this can come across as a surprise.

I say that in the sense that certain things may not go how you think, twists and turns for sure. You get a wide range of challenging levels to work through. Sometimes you click buttons, other times you're flicking switches and may be balancing liquid as well. At other points you'll take a crack at boxes with many sides, but you may not even need to interact with them all. It will certainly keep you guessing the entire time.

Gameplay

The visuals are fine, it's a simple game so there's not a whole lot going on. The backdrop is fine, feels like a factory type place. The challenges you aim to solve offer many ways to manipulate them. You can zoom in, shift everything around or just click on stuff.

I did find that some of the dials were a bit hard to turn, other than that it all ran relatively fine. The menu is easy to use and I didn't have much difficulty interacting with anything. You can skip stuff after so much time if you're having problems solving anything. Not a whole lot to really go over for here, it's very straight forward.

The Conclusion

Access Denied is an odd take on the puzzle game, one that presents a different type of challenge. I wasn't a huge fan of it, but there's some value here for those that want something new to tackle. You'll be perplexed or perhaps know what you're doing as you indulge in bizarre offerings that present themselves across the puzzles.

Clicking things, pushing stuff along and just fiddling with stuff will be your path to victory. The area you work in is simplistic, but offers a lot of functionality. You are easily able to manipulate whatever object you're given, which could showcase new ways to get to the next level.
