Top 10 Xbox One Kid Friendly Games

The Xbox One has been out for awhile at this point with a large collection of games available for the console at this point I thought it would be great to go over the best kid friendly games available for that younger audience out there. Listed are a variety of titles that are quite great for all audiences and definitely recommended for the small ones.

#10: Minecraft: Story Mode

Minecraft is well loved by almost everyone and Telltale has given the game a story with some charming characters. It's a very light hearted story filled with great laughs, adventure and it's great for all ages. At this point the first season is a total of eight episodes that aren't that expensive in comparison to the many hours of this choose your own adventure type game.

#9: Squid Hero/Boom Ball

I always like to suggest these two as I like supporting the Kinect and that they're very fun games. Aimed more towards the younger audiences these two are available in a number of combinations so I decided to group together. Both use only the Kinect which great for fitness and both games are also quite fun.

#8: Just Dance 2016

This is another Kinect focused title featuring an array of bright colors and you just get to casually dance. It's a welcoming environment with many of the top hits along with a number of classics to dance around to which is great. I'd also like to mention Dance Central though that's a bit more serious as this is just fun dancing where score doesn't matter as much.

#7: King's Quest

King's Quest is beautiful and enchanting episodic series packing many hours of gameplay into a light adventure game where you're going through the life of a king. It's got great humor that all audiences can appreciate, but it truly does capture a young audience with its jokes and it's just a lovely time. Whether that's when you're off adventuring, the environments you explore or the wacky characters you come across.

King's Quest

#6: Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

I'll be quite honest when I say I spent over forty hours playing the first game and I highly recommend it. It's a game where they take the formula of Plants vs Zombies and mix into a third person shooter filled with great laughs and tons of trading card unlocks to work towards. Aside from just multiplayer this sequel also added a number of more cooperative areas or single player to play as well if online is too difficult though I'm sure it won't be an issue.

#5: Disney Infinity 3.0

I personally got into Disney Infinity 2 right at the end of its lifespan finding that game alright, but I was really blown away with the 3.0 version. Not only do you get a massive and expanding world the figures are also somewhat toys which I've heard a number of kids enjoy playing with. The game aspect is incredible as you can play through tons of levels, create your own or just play around in the large toybox within the game. It's well worth it to even grab just a couple characters to give the game a whirl as I'm sure with the wide range of characters from Disney there's something to like.

#4: LEGO Dimensions

The Lego games are always a great bet for any age and I'm suggesting Dimensions a bit higher than Disney Infinity because the minifigs from the game are fully compatible with any existing Lego I'm sure you have around which is great. It's got a long campaign with tons of expansion packs, figure packs and whatever else to make the game last many hours.

LEGO Dimensions

#3: Lego Marvel Super Heroes

Each of the Lego games are amazing and while Lego Dimensions offers a wide range of extra content Marvel Super Heroes is what I'd consider the defining Lego game with a huge roster of characters to play with and a lengthy campaign the follow. It also has just a ton of extra content to play afterwards in the open world city or replaying to get all the unlocks.

#2: Roblox

Roblox is an expansive and free experience aimed directly at kids so it's a must have for the young ones. They also add a pile of new games from time to time in order to keep it fresh and it's a wild time with enough games that there's also something for everyone to play.

Roblox

#1: Minecraft

An obvious choice for the top spot Minecraft is a game that entertains millions around the world whether that's playing it yourself or watching others online. It's an expansive and constantly being updated game that offers the ultimate level of creativity. It's a simple game to learn for anyone and yet it can be complex as you make it with your adventures. It's got survival for those that want to live in the game or creative for those that just want to build.

Minecraft

With that here are the top 10 Xbox One kid friendly games which should capture a wide range of titles. If I missed anything essential let me know, but I feel this is a solid list of at least starter games for the younger ones.
