Top 10 Nintendo Switch Indie Games We Want in 2017

There's been some decent support for the Nintendo Switch since its launch with future support from many developers to build for Nintendo's latest console. I thought it would be great to take a look at the Top 10 Nintendo Switch indie games that are set to release in 2017. This list should have a good variety of titles with some top notch exclusives, ports or even unique titles that would fit well on the device. The list is in somewhat of a ranking order by desire, but each of these are really great games to check out for Nintendo Switch in 2017.

#10: TumbleSeed

TumbleSeed is certainly a different type of game where you control a seed trying to roll up a procedurally generated mountain. There are five unique worlds, different scenes and some vibrant colors in what looks like a crazy game.

#9: Hollow Knight

Featuring a hand-drawn 2D artwork Hollow Knight is a lovely looking dark title with bizarre creatures that you'll come across while adventure through dark caves and other mysterious locations. It looks really great and features an open world to explore along with a number of hardcore bosses to take on.

#8: Graceful Explosion Machine

Another very vibrant game, Graceful Explosion Machine is a colorful and crazy side-scrolling shooter where you control a small ship blasting away anything in your path. There are quite a few levels, worlds and weapons to unleash upon whatever you might have to face in a great looking game.

#7: Terraria

I've played Terraria across many consoles and I'm always thrilled by the game as it's basically the side scroller version of Minecraft mixed with structured goals. This game would be perfect to take with you on the go to waste hours and there's not much else to say about Terraria other than that it's expansive.

#6: Runner3

If you've been on the Nintendo platform you've probably heard of the BIT.TRIP RUNNER series and this is the latest entry in that series. It's another colorful quick based platformer with intense rainbow trails and it's something that's a definite check-out.

#5: Thumper

Thumper is heading to every platform at this point and it's a seriously great rhythm based endless runner of sorts. You roll down a track at intense speeds pulling off a number of moves to gain points while also taking on unreal bosses against a majestic music track. It's awesome and I highly suggest this regardless of platform.

#4: Flipping Death

Zoink makes some fantastic games with Stick it to the Man being an early generation favorite of mine and Flipping Death seems to carry on that sort of funky design. The characters are basically sticker cut-outs though it's a darker world with some hilarious events going on. Here you take over for the Grim Reaper and I can imagine the fun involved with this one.

#3: Stardew Valley

The game is huge and available basically on all platforms, but you've yet to be able to take Stardew Valley out on the road. It would be amazing to have this magic farming game anywhere and it's essentially a modern Harvest Moon game. There will also be some first exclusives for Nintendo Switch so watch out for that.

#2: Rime

Rime is another multi-platform game though it does look like a must have for any console you own featuring an absolutely lovely art style and a charming environment. From Tequila Works, I'm sure this game will have some well designed areas to explore and perhaps some challenging puzzles as well.

#1: SteamWorld Dig 2

The other SteamWorld games were great and while a bit challenging from what I recall, this should be a definite hit for the console. It's a digging based game where you face hardcore enemies while attempting to gain better riches and make it down further to uncover the many secrets below. I'd heavily suggest keeping this one on your watch as you won't want to miss it.
