Fallout 76 E3 2018: What to Expect

It has been expected for a fair bit that some sort of Fallout was to be seen at E3 2018, this announcement was however a surprise. It was always assumed we'd see a Fallout 3 Anniversary which could realistically still happen at Bethesda's conference, but for now we have the mysteries of Fallout 76. This is a fast development to follow Fallout 4 and signs points towards this being a different take on the series we've known well for a distinct style. That of course being a single player narrative driven adventure through the wasteland, with an element of choice.

There aren't any exact details, but we do know this will be a very early entry in the series. It is supposed to take place really close to the dropping of the bombs that caused the wasteland. This is according to the timeline and the Pipboy displaying the date as October 21, 2102 within the trailer. It could also be taking place in West Virginia based on song played during the trailer and the vault number. Without moving too far past the setting, this could also be an entry that helps develop the lore and does things differently as well. Fallout 76 E3 2018 Screenshot
At E3 2018 I believe we'll get a full reveal and a release date, maybe even coming out this year though it's a very busy schedule for the Fall. It wouldn't be the first time Bethesda revealed a game for it to launch right away. This will probably be something different, with the success of the Settlements aspect in Fallout 4 that will be more present here. I can see this very much being about the origins of many things that happen in the wasteland. Setting up the initial settlements that made up the new world, where some of the mutated characters came from and more about these vaults that were designed for experiments.

This could provide a more in-depth setup for creation and perhaps finally a push towards cooperative play. Rumors are suggesting the game will be an online sort of experience which makes sense given the times. This could be what the long time discussed Fallout Online was inspired to be like. I wouldn't imagine story would be thrown aside from this, though it certainly won't be the focal point. I personally think it would very interesting to see multiple players engaging in this type of landscape, whatever the case more Fallout is always good. This game will probably be playable though the line will be crazy. If past years are an indication it'll also be at their conference with a demo, though the lines will be insane. I'm hoping to try it, I'll just have to wait and see if that happens.
