Minecraft: Parrots Announced

Minecraft is now getting Parrots as announced by Maria Lemón, Developer at Mojang with the model created by Razz, Developer & 3D Modeler at Mojang. The parrots don't have an official release date, but will be first headed to Minecraft PC/Java/Vanilla in a future snapshot with all other platforms receiving them at a later time. There appears to be a selection of colors available as well including Red, Green, Dark Blue and Light Blue colors thus far. The mob will also be something that players can tame as well in the game so be prepared to live our your pirate fantasy!

The birds are based on the Macaw and the reasoning behind them is that the developer wanted parrots, so we have those colorful and fancy birds incoming. It would have made sense to perhaps add regular birds, but whatever as these are much cooler. The mob will also be an aggressive peaceful passive mob with some other Minecraft twists thrown in. The parrots should honestly be fun to have around and I'm sure everyone will go about collecting them, hopefully they have some unique properties and fun aspects that fit into Minecraft well. You can check out the .gif below as the image was just grabbed from that and not quite clear in quality, it'll be updated when it releases in the game.
