The Long Journey Home E3 2016 Impressions

The Long Journey Home is a RPG title headed for release on PC during the second half of 2016 without a definite release at this point. It's also set to release on Xbox One and Playstation 4 in 2017 without a specific timeline at this point. The game is a procedurally generated endlessly surprising universe that continues to expand with worlds to explore. It's also a dangerous universe as you work to plunder alien worlds with a small crew and once they all die it's over. Aside from plundering there are also politic routes to take in regards to trading or having diplomatic ties with some aliens you come across.

It's also a game that's about choice in regards to telling the crew members what to do and where you decide to take your ship to explore. With it being random the universe is always fresh no matter what crew you take and the choices you make in the story do impact your future. The game also carries a heavy focus on the ship aspects of the game as you swap ships or upgrade the one you have in order to make it handle more scenarios and situations that you might come across. The universe is truly open to you with exploration and how to tackle the various aliens you might come across. Will you collect artifacts that might please them, chat the race up or even deal with issues of dialect not matching up. It's a wild and random universe, look forward to checking out The Long Journey Home when it does release.
