Games for Windows Live Should be Revived for the Windows Store

It would be great to see some of the games that were released on Microsoft's "Games for Windows Live" revived on the Windows Store platform for Windows 10. Some of these games are classic Xbox titles and with the easy application conversion they've recently announced it shouldn't be too difficult to get these games running on the new store. It would not only be great to see some of these awesome games return, but to also see them get a bit of updated love as well in the transition. Preserving these legacy titles would be great as some of the games were actually great spin-offs or ports of Xbox 360 games and it would be an easy way to build the current Xbox Windows 10 library which is rather small at this point. I was personally a big fan of playing Shadowrun and Halo 2 on the PC as they were both great titles that definitely looked much better on my PC at the time.

While some of these games might seem a bit old for some the goal would be a quick upgrade for the older titles to help build what's available. I would also readily assume that Halo 2 itself would gather players as people absolutely love the old Halo titles and I'd give it a whirl as well since the PC space was much crazier than Xbox 360 in those later years. It would also be great to see if they could give legacy unlocks for those that had the games on the original story though that would be just a neat promotional thought. They actually also had a fairly large list of titles present on that store totaling 225 which is a good number of even transferring some of the titles in a similar fashion to backwards compatibility would be nice. Obviously due to the time lapsed from their launches I'm assuming some might be lost forever, but first party games could be a good candidate for the move over. Another easy to port aspect for these games is that many of them also already have achievements attached to them and I believe the servers might be running as well since Shadowrun shared a server with its Xbox 360 counterpart. It would be nice to some of these games return as most are just locked on Xbox 360 or just not available at all. Some of the premier titles for the service would most likely be Shadowrun (love this game); Halo 2, Gears of War, Fable III, Tinker, Viva Pinata, Ms Splosion Man and Age of the Empires Online (Trickier as servers closed on that one for sure). It may never happen, but with the new application upgrading they've introduced it's possible so you never know. I personally think it would be nice to see these titles return at some point on the PC whether that's this way, new ports or even placing backwards compatible titles on there.
