Xbox One Marketplace Needs to be Redesigned

The Xbox One has had a surprisingly large amount of updates in comparison to basically any other console released though a glaring issue that has been present since the start is how the Xbox Marketplace is just a mess. Visually I actually find that the marketplace displays nice with the box art images clearly visible for the titles though this is even cluttered. Not only are there multiple copies of the same game with variations it simply likes to place them together pushing other titles out of the way instead of being one branching section. It should show just the regular title such as "The Division" and then on the store page show off the various versions of the game. I do however like the setup for the game pages themselves though even that area needs to have more information included within it as I've heard many complain about that. Another glaring problem that is in association to game pages is that you still can't buy Xbox 360 titles that are backwards compatible and have to do it online or through Xbox 360 which is sad. On top of that issue they really need to include an area just for Xbox 360 games that are compatible so you can shop through and see what's currently available.

Xbox One Marketplace Needs to be Redesigned

One of the larger clutter issues with the store is the annoying fact that DLC (Add-Ons) gets its own spaces and that area is very poorly organized. They even have DLC that's not yet available filling rows of the area so you never really see what's new. It's great that DLC is presented so well, but it would be much more efficient to label it under the game it belongs to and just have a purely new releases DLC area. The upcoming games area is for some reason the best off since it's very limited and even that doesn't do a great job of showing all the titles that are really coming out and most just show up under new releases upon release. The store also lacks any sort of alphabetical listing so unless you know what you want to find by using the Bing search (voice/controller input) then most games are just lost. This is of course bad on both the developer side of things since their games get buried quickly and for players that will never even see some of the gems. I believe that this would be more apparent for indie games and those should honestly get their own section as well. It would actually be great to get sub-sections based on various gameplay aspects like first person shooters, rpg games, sports and of the like. Any of these ideas would do wonders in actually making this marketplace friendler and help players find games. The Xbox Marketplace definitely needs to be redesigned or at least tweaked to make it function better. Players are having a hard time finding what they want with a lack of functionality in most areas and no regard for Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles which makes no sense since we want to buy them on the console. Hopefully this area doesn't get neglected much longer as I'm shocked an area where they make their money has just been left to the side for such a long time.
