Ex-Valve Game Tester Comments

On Reddit earlier this morning an (allegedly) Ex-Valve Game Tester made a list of information on a post detailing future plans for the company of which he saw. Again, I'd like to mention that I'd take this with little faith in it being true, though interesting concepts anyways if they are. Looking forward the time slot in which he discusses the next title makes sense and we'll break this all down, if you'd like to see the original post you can find that at the bottom. Quotations will be my comments on each bit of information here on out.

First off he rambles on about game testers getting lower and lower payments with Valve not being the company it used to. "Valve honestly isn't what they used to be as they don't focus on game creation now with Steam being so big, they really don't need to release games even though people want them to. As far as game testers go we have no information on that, also question the structure of his writing for someone that tests games."

Half-Life 3 apparently isn't in production and rarely spoken of within the company. "Another aspect which makes sense based on many other stories from other past developers from there, it seems like Valve isn't too interested in making a third entry."

Valve is also apparently working on anti-piracy software with 40-50% less piracy. "This seems the most out of place thing on the list, don't know why Valve would be in need of such a service, especially with how it's detailed here."

The next part details Left 4 Dead 3, which will instead be Left 4 Dead with a subtitle attached. It will release in Q4 2017 or Q1 2018. "Date wise this somewhat makes sense as I'd personally guess a new Valve game will release in 2017 by the looks of past leaked content. For the next block of information I'm just going to paste what's written since there's a ton."

The game is a sequel-prequel,taking place 1 month after the infection and at the day of the infection.
There will be yet again,4 new survivors.

1.Irvin-A black(not being racist)gangster guy which according to him,was the only one who was able to escape from his "hood",he will be the new francis/coach of the game.
2.Katherine-a stereotypical 24 year old white woman, who used to work as an stewardess on a now long-gone plane-station.
3.Keenan-Also an black guy,but he's a comic book nerd,he's pretty similar to Louis in a way.
4.Garret Jr.-A stereotypical buffed-up guy,who is a famous Kenpō-fighter in the L4D universe,his melee animations will be different compared to others,but balance-wise,it isn't any better than other people's melee's.
Oh also, now you will have backpack system.

It will be randomized every game, basically, you can carry only limited amount of items in your backpack(20-50 KG),carrying more slows you down, and you can carry only one type of item(Let's say,Katherine can carry Medpacks, while Keenan can only carry Rifles.).

In the release there will be 6 campaigns:
1.Crash-land(Similar to Dark Carnival in a way)
2.Impasse(takes place in a massive burning building skyscraper, kinda similar to No Mercy)
3.Inquisitor Land(again, seems similar to first 2 maps of Dark Carnival)
4.Early Destination(Takes place in a similar to black-mesa science-testing base)
5.Cliff-Hanger(Takes place on a snowy mountain, the survivors must reach the top of the mountain to escape.)
6.No Mercy(This will be a Pre-Order Bonus, which will be the complete remake of No Mercy with the original 4 survivors.)
As i mentioned before,2 of the chapters (Impasse and Inquisitor Land)Are Prequels, taking place at the day of the infection, you play as 4 unnamed scientists who worked on the green flu,the maps take place in Philadelphia.)

"That's a lot of information about Left 4 Dead 3, let's break it down. The four new survivors make sense and each is random enough that they would fit within the universe. I would have thought that the original characters and Left 4 Dead 2 characters would mix to finish their stories. The back pack system makes no sense in logic to the game, and would probably turn many players away. Six campaigns sounds right as it's just an extra addition which is apparently No Mercy as a pre-order bonus. Don't believe I've ever seen Valve offer pre-order levels, but according to other games these days I don't see why they couldn't. The map names are funny and seem unlike Left 4 Dead levels except for the notion that when in testing or beta the maps we have now did have bland names that were changed for the final product. As an end comment this account was closed on Reddit and no information was presented to prove any of the comments. For now we should take caution at the comments made and just keep waiting for something from Valve about their future. If there's a Left 4 Dead 3 coming I should imagine an announcement at E3 2016 if not an event around that time as well. What are your thoughts? Original post can be found below.
